Well i installed Header Monitor 0.3.1 and now both extensions appear on the status bar but the infoRSS one stops working... Disabling the Header Monitor it starts working again...

Off
course now it could be problem of the other extension.

Thank you for the update anyway :)

What a cool extension!

Will it be possible to show multi-header?

Now with HM 0.3.2 You can monitor only HTTP response headers. May be it for next version ;)

Another feature request; could it be possible to add the possibility of adding an arbitrary header?
Like, adding an "other" in the Header pull-down menu and then type the header wanted?

In order to monitor custom header meanwhile use "extensions.headermonitor.header" preference (about:config). Header changes come into effect after restart browser. Waiting next version..

looks like the extension isn't working under Firefox 1.5 Beta 1... LiveHTTPHeader was installed/activated with the "Nightly Tester Tools"...

Editing the .xul and the install.rdf files allowed me to integrate Header Monitor into the taskbar of Firefox 1.5. I am not able however to get any data from live-headers so it will always say "none" in the status bar. I think there are some more adations in the .js files required. But looking at the content of these files without documentation is quite hard. Also the details of the integration with live-headers is not documented and that is where the data needs to come from. I am willing to spend some more time on it, I could however use some help with this, as I am not that familiar with the reuse of data from other firefox extensions.

Cheers,

Ben

Live HTTP Headers 0.11 does not work with recent trunk builds of Firefox. This is becuase it is incompatible with the xpcnativewrappers code which has now been enabled on the trunk, and is soon to be enabled on the branch as well. The code (nsHeaderInfo.js) needs to be modifed to work correctly with xpcnativewrappers.
As result Headers tab in Page Info does not work with xpcnativewrappers enabled, and Header Monitor now does not work.

Ben,

There is patch for LiveHTTPHeaders which makes the Headers tab work in Page Info.. perhaps it will fix this issue too. However it seems to be a bit of a hack so maybe not.

The patch can be found here:

(attached to Comment #16 From Wladimir Palant 2005-12-13 05:18)

What XUL changes need to be made to get the HM panel to appear on the status bar?

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for the update!

If someone upgraded to firefox 1.5.0.1 notice that Headermonitor will stop working, but editing the install.rdf within the xpi file (open it with a zip program) and setting the maxversion to the new firefox version will resolve the issue.

Cheers

For some reason I can't see the header-monitor in the status-bar (I have version 0.3.4). I also have the Fasterfox and and FireBug extension installed; if I disable those extensions and set the "display statusbar if header exists" to false, I only see "none" :( although the live-header tab shows me a server.

I followed the instructions and installed LiveHTTPHeaders 0.12 before I installed header-monitor but I fail to see the output of header-monitor.
I wonder how header-monitor will write anything to the statusbar as there is only one line of space and it is always displaying "Transferring..." and "Done" when accessing a web page.

I found it! :-) I did not notice the small field on the right in the statusbar where the header information is displayed (same location where the progress bar is shown).

Mh, currently I see no reason why I would need the minimal and reduced information provided by headermonitor as LiveHTTPHeaders provides this and more, too.
